Pa para pa ra pa ra pa ra ra... I’m Momose Ginko. We created “My Lucky Clover” for our live tour, centering the concept around each unit representing a playing card suit. Kaho-senpai came up with the idea, and somehow we managed to divide all the suits without any overlap. It’s kind of amazing how perfectly each unit matches their suit, isn’t it? Hehe. Like Izumi’s Spades. Since it comes from the image of a sword, it matches her perfectly.

Kaho-senpai was the one who wrote the lyrics for “My Lucky Clover.”. Because of that, I expected a much more upbeat, excitable song to come my way... but instead, it has such a lovely atmosphere. I mean, I think a bubbly, lighthearted song would have been cute and very much like Kaho-senpai, but...lines like “Even if I feel like I’ll be buried by the expectations placed on me,” or “Giving up seems easy, but it’s actually hard,” there are so many lyrics I can really relate to. It reminded me that Kaho-senpai really is skilled at lyricist. She’s not just bright and cute, you know. She has this delicate side too. I’d like to be able to express that kind of subtle contrast in the songs I create as well. I’ll do my best to improve.

There’s a little story behind this song. When Kaho-senpai was composing it, she actually went out to search for a real four-leaf clover. But she was gone for so long, so I figured I’d go lend a hand. As soon as she saw me, she blurted out, “Ginko-chan, maybe you’re my four-leaf clover!” You can't just put that in a song! Naturally, I put a stop to that idea. But when I saw Kaho-senpai crouching there in that sea of green, searching for clovers… From a distance, she almost looked like one herself. Don’t you think her hairstyle kind of resembles it? I found myself thinking… if I could be with her, maybe we could become something special together, like a four-leaf clover. Um... I feel like I’ve just said something incredibly embarrassing...!
