I love “Identity.” The first time I saw it was last year when Meguchan-senpai and Rurichan-senpai performed it. I wonder though. I could really feel the willpower from the both of them. Then, after I learned that it was a song with a long tradition, it became even more fun to think just how much of their feelings had gone into it. I especially love how it begins with Meguchan-senpai's lyrics, and Rurichan-senpai sings ‘As your number one fan.’ It might’ve been a one-person song at first, but the way they split that part up really makes you feel Megu-chan and Ruri-chan’s bond. Singing “Identity.” with them made me absurdly nervous... When we were talking about who would sing what, Meguchan-senpai said “You can sing whatever parts you want.” What I wanted was for Ruri-chan and Megu-chan to sing what's in their hearts while I support them. I’m not sure if my interpretation was the right one but that’s the direction I wanted this year’s Identity to take. They both accepted it though, which made me happy.

This year’s Identity has a totally different melody, right? I know~. It’s changed a lot over time, but this is what it turned into this year. I got to be a bit selfish with the lyrics, but I don’t know so much about music, so I left that to Meguchan-senpai and Rurichan-senpai. They told me they wanted to add in all the fun I’ve brought to Mira-Cra Park. Somehow, I ended up being the one feeling respected...So warm... They wanted to infuse the song with the excitement of playing a game, making it energetic and explosive. Putting on the same outfit and singing the same song together on stage with Meguchan-senpai and Rurichan-senpai... I was super tense, but I'm used to the real thing, so I'll do my best and make sure I don't mess up. This is my first step. For my dream, and for my Identity. I’ll do everything I can for it to reach you!
